What is Joslin Elementary School?
A Unique Multilingual School
Multilingual/Multiliterate/Multicultural
Joslin is the only AISD school where students can learn English, Spanish, and Mandarin simultaneously. Regardless of your student's chosen language pathway, each day begins with a morning assembly where students learn the school songs and values in 3 languages. Through multicultural events like Lotería, the Moon Festival, and Lunar New Year, students explore diverse cultures while deepening their understanding of their own.
A Supportive
Environment
Joslin supports the diverse needs of all students by offering special education services, gifted and talented programs, and on-campus social emotional learning and counseling to promote academic growth, personal development, and emotional well-being. We are also proud to offer Academy 4, Leader in Me, AVID, and Leaders 5 programming. Joslin is fortunate to be able to provide free breakfast and lunch to all students regardless of income in the '25-'26 school year, as well as supper to students participating in the affordable on-site extend-a-care program ran by the YMCA.

Accountablity
Our accountablity scores reflect the success of our support programs and the hard work of our staff and students. In the 2024-2025 school year we increased our score from a C(75) to a B+(87), a 16% increase. Joslin received distinctions in math, science, and closing the gap, and we outscored the district in 11+ pts in School Progress & Closing the Gap. Find our stats here.
We are Jaguar Pride
At Joslin, we take pride in our campus. In 2024–2025, the PTA funded the blacktop resurfacing and, with support from Beautification Chair Allie Cassel, helped revitalize our gardens. These improvements created outdoor classrooms and opportunities to learn about healthy eating. Check our calendar for community garden days. As part of the 2022 AISD Bond, Joslin also received a new perimeter fence and a safer entrance. Learn more about AISD bond projects here.
